Training Workshop for Journalists Working in Rural Areas at ICG The Media Information and Communication Centre of India (MICCI), the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES-India) and The International Centre, Goa (ICG) will co-organise a 3-day training workshop for the journalists working in the rural areas of Goa from 9th to 11th December 2008 at The International Centre, Goa – Dona Paula. The workshop is aimed at understanding the journalism for the benefit of the journalists who work from rural areas. The sessions will be taken by - Frederick Noronha, Freelancer; Nandini Sahai, Director – MICCI; Paul John Fernandes – Correspondent, Times of India; Prakash Kamat, Correspondent - The Hindu; Pramod Khandeparkar, Former Editor,
Gomantak Times; Sagar Jawdekar, Correspondent - Tarun Bharat; Sanjay Dhavliker, Editor – Gomantak; Soter D'Souza, Director, Centre for Panchayati Raj.
The workshop will also include the field trip to a village and the participants will be told to write a story about their visit.
