J&K Amended RTI Act lacks teeth.

The amendment introduced on August 31, 2007 in the State Legislative Assembly bring the Jammu and Kashmir RTI act at par with the Central Right to Information Act 2005 lacks teeth to make it effective.

Section 7(1) of central RTI Act in which any information sought that concerns life and liberty of a person has to be furnished in 48 hours, is not present in the current amendment.
