The Goa State Information Commission has imposed a penalty of Rs 1000 on the secretary of the village panchayat of Calangute for not discharging his duties as Public Information Officer and for delay in producing the original documents when asked for by the Commission. The order, signed by the State Chief Information Commissioner Mr A Venkataratnam and State Information Commissioner Mr G G Kambli, wasissued on October 10, 2007.
