'Govt flouted rules by according minority status to schools'

New Delhi, July 17: Despite a clear guideline that a school can be
declared minority only by the National Commission for Minorities, the
Delhi government has accorded such status to several academic
institutions in violation of the existing rules, an activist has
alleged.

Activist Gurvinder Singh Saini said that through an RTI application,
he learned that Guru Harkishan Public Schools in capital's Tilak Nagar
and Hari Nagar were declared as minority institutes by the Director of
Education.
