NEW DELHI: The Central Information Commission (CIC) has refused to entertain the plea of a journalist seeking information on incentives provided to ministers by a government carrier, saying that it can be misused.
"The Government and public servants have been availing of such incentives provided by Air India and other airlines with which it has been competing," Central Information Commissioner Professor M M Ansari said.
"The disclosure of selective information in respect of the identified ministers could be misused for humiliation and harassment of any passenger," the Commissioner observed.
The Commission has passed the order on a petition filed by the reporter of a weekly magazine seeking details of concessional and free travel availed by ministers under Frequent Fliers Scheme.
