With the Right To Information (RTI) Act coming into force, people living below the poverty line, entitled to get any amount of information free of cost, are apparently being used by influential people putting many government departments in a fix.
As per the provisions of the RTI Act, which came into effect from October 12 last year, those from the BPL families are exempted from depositing the prescribed fee for seeking information and they are entitled to get written information free of cost.
